FINNIGAN

Meet Finnigan(Finnie)! Finnie came to us in early May 2026 when he was found stray and had collapsed on someone’s property. He was very thin and was unable to move his hind end. He was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and with supportive care, medication and rehabilitation he has been able to gain the use of his hind end again.

While he can’t easily get himself up into a standing position (though he is growing stronger at this!) with support from a human hand or from his wheelie cart, he is able to get around for exercise and to explore. And he LOVES to explore!

Along with his spine and mobility issues, Finnie has hyperthyroidism which is being maintained with daily medication. He also has chronic kidney disease, (which is not uncommon for senior cats) which is currently being maintained with fluid intake and diet. He is a great traveler and seems to enjoy his doctor’s appointments. He makes friends easily, everywhere he goes.

Finnie needs a home where he is the only pet. He requires and demands a lot of attention and he doesn’t like other cats. At this stage in his life, he doesn’t need to try and adjust! Dogs and small children will be too much of a risk for his fragile spine as both, and Finnie himself, can get playing too rough. He really looks forward to his daily adventure outings and is hoping for someone who will take him for walks everyday. He is able to navigate stairs (supervised only!) and loves to cuddle and be held. And he would like you to know that he has no problems using the litterbox!

Finnie is an intense cat. From his level of care, to his will to survive, to the love he offers. He is hard core. He may not be around for a long time, but he will leave years worth of impact on his people. He does not understand limitations on health, adventure or love.

Finnie is part of our Age To Perfection program – which simply put, means that his special food, medications, and any related vet costs are covered by our shelter.
